Features & Essays If you've waded through the brochures and white papers on the other pages, you'll know how I've spent the last twenty years. Increasingly, I'm spending time on this page, writing about food, travel, and relationships. Lately I've been concentrating on flash fiction and personal essays. The stories are getting shorter and shorter, so read them now, while they still have words in them. Micro Fiction: Not sure “How to Sign a Guestbook”? This story, published by Word Riot, helps you complete this vacation chore with ease. Micro Fiction: "A Pitying of Turtledoves" and "One and Only" were published by Dicey Brown. Micro Fiction: A palm tree is a good listener. "Una Palma" was published online in PIF Magazine. Prose: Is irony a route to personal transformation? Quarterly West originally published "13 Questions About Irony." Travel essay: My stepdaughters insisted on camping with ketchup, Pepsi and showers. "Ketchup and Convertibles" has been published in Salon and Making Connections, an anthology about mother-daughter travel by Seal Press. Feature: "After the Wall" describes changes East German women have faced since the Berlin Wall came down. It was published in WIN International Magazine.
